KDH (Christian democratic movement) is a slovak christian democratic party with a 30-year history. It was founded on the foundations of the slovak underground church whose members fought for freedom and democracy during communism. After the establishment of the independent Slovak Republic, we made significant efforts to strengthen democratic structures and European integration.
The chairman of the party is Mr. Milan Majerský, president of the Prešov self-governing region.
The vice-presidents are Igor Janckulík, Marián Čaučík and Tomáš Merašícký. Other members of the presidency are Martina Holečková, Monika Kolejáková, Peter Berinšter, Milan Kabina, Jozef Mikuš, Marek Šmid, Martin Šmilňák, Peter Belinský and Peter Bobula. The party’s headquarters is headed by Secretary General Marek Michalčík.
We are a movement with a strong regional representation, thousands of members across Slovakia, thousands of regional deputies and hundreds of mayors. We are also member of the largest political alliance in Europe – the European People’s Party.
In the European Parliament we are represented by two MEPs, Mrs. Miriam Lexmann and Mr. Ivan Štefanec.
